about PastelSome of my works can looks maybe too much simplified or not understood completely because I'm using a technique used by someone here too but not known among the most of people, with the word pastel they thinks I'm talking about the school pastels kids use and obviously is not the same thing so... let me put some history i have found about pastels with the help of sources like Wikipedia.
Soft pastel was invented by the minor french artist Jean Perréal (1455-1530) about the ends of XV century.
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was one of the first in Italy who started use it in his studies and sketches. In his "Atlantic Code" sheet 247, he recognized the paternity of the technique to Perréal with the sentence "...a new technique for paint with different dry colors...".

Wow thats nice !
I like the contrast in this picture.
The white background seems to be the light behind the darkness where she's sitting <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
But I think u should bring in some more details that would be great :3
The picture has a great atmosphere ,that's something most pictures lack .
I'd put some light-reflexes in the foreground and on her body .
In the white background I'd imply some buildings :3 (or are there already some ? I think so?)
I don't really like the red in the foreground <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/> but that's my opinion <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>
In the End I can say I think your work is great ,but you can still make it better <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>
I hope I helped a bit ,even if I'm no good inwriting critiques <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>
Keep up the good work <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/> !
