about PastelSome of my works can looks maybe too much simplified or not understood completely because I'm using a technique used by someone here too but not known among the most of people, with the word pastel they thinks I'm talking about the school pastels kids use and obviously is not the same thing so... let me put some history i have found about pastels with the help of sources like Wikipedia.
Soft pastel was invented by the minor french artist Jean Perréal (1455-1530) about the ends of XV century.
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was one of the first in Italy who started use it in his studies and sketches. In his "Atlantic Code" sheet 247, he recognized the paternity of the technique to Perréal with the sentence "...a new technique for paint with different dry colors...".

I've always liked meet works made in pastel technique; since impressionism is one of the most interesting artistic styles of interpretation for myself.
So, when I discovered that you watched me, I decided to pass me by your gallery and this was the job that I liked more!
Your Blue Church shows an instant visual impact determined largely by the excellent use of perspective with two vanishing points that confront us with the edge of the Cathedral, creating a feeling of overwhelming depth.
Also, the the colors used were very well chosen, combining low saturation in the Cathedral and high saturation at the bottom to create a contrast that manages to stand out from the central element of the painting.
In terms of technique, I am pleased to tell you that it is one of best pastel works in colorful/saturated tones that I have ever seen.
Moments I think seeing a painting of Lesser Ury...!
Anyway, congratulations for this deviation!
Its going to my favorites right away! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="357" title="Heart"/>
